Lead time for changes
The DORA version of cycle time: from code committed to running in production. Vendors that say “cycle time” often start the clock earlier, at the ticket or the first commit.
Why it matters to an engineering manager
It answers "how long until a change we already wrote is in production?" It starts later than many cycle-time clocks, which is why the two numbers disagree.
Which tools measure this
Tools tagged DORA. A tag means the vendor's pages listed it. It does not mean every sub-metric is broken out.
