Flow metrics
Measures of how work moves: flow time, flow load (work in progress), and flow efficiency (active time versus waiting). You will also see this called value-stream metrics. We tag it with flow and cycle time.
Why it matters to an engineering manager
Flow time, load, and efficiency tell you where work is stuck. They are a poor target for an individual, because most of the time is waiting on the system.
Which tools measure this
Tools tagged Flow & cycle time. A tag means the vendor's pages listed it. It does not mean every sub-metric is broken out.
